February 7, Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Meeting, 7 pm: We need all the support staff for Upward to attend this meeting. We will be distributing schedules and rosters for both the cheerleading and basketball divisions to coaches/assistant coaches, referees, and support staff. If you're not already involved in Upward and would like to be, please come out to this meeting to learn how you can support this effort.

February 9, Workshop Committee Meeting, 6 pm: The worship committee consists of all ushers, greeters, parking lot attendants, musicians, dance ministry. If you are a member of any of these groups or would like to become a member, please attend this meeting.

February 11, "Sweetheart Dance" sponsored by Red Oak UMW: The United Methodist Women are sponsoring a Sweetheart Dance in the FLC. The cost is $10 a couple, $5 single. Join us for music, fellowship, and games. Sign up or see a member of UMW for tickets. Hope to see you there!

Noon Day Bible Study, Thursdays, 12 pm, FLC: Noon day Bible Study has resumed. If you miss Wednesday night Bible Study or noon time on Thursdays works best for you, come and join us. Study is 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Lenten Season: Please be mindful that Ash Wednesday is February 22nd and we will then begin our Lenten fast and Lenten study.

2011 Contribution Forms: To request your contributions statement for 2011, please complete the form located in the foyer. Place completed form in the offering basket. Statements will be ready for pick-up at the end of this month. Note: In order to get credited for your givings, you must legibly complete the church envelope.

Opportunities, Opportunities, Opportunities: Several colleges are offering opportunities ranging from MBA programs for minorities, to black male high school seniors who want to go to college out of state, to honor student grants, to Air Traffic Controller School for young adults. Most of these programs offer free tuition. Detailed information is on our website and on the table in the foyer.

Beth Moore Study, "Breaking Free": Any women who may be interested in participating in this study, please see Ruth Pinkney to sign up and for more information. The study will run 6 to 8 weeks. Information session to be scheduled early next month. There are only 12 slots available.

Other Announcements & Information

CPR Class: All persons interested in taking a CPR/FA class, please sign up on the sheet in the foyer or the Family Life Center. Contact Brad Miller at 678-662-9255 if you have any questions.

Restoration and Healing List: Please call the church office with the names of your friends or relatives who are ill or recovering from an illness. We would like to let them know that we are thinking about them by calling or sending them a card. So, if you have a phone number and address for them, please give that information as well. Also, once they have recovered, please call to the office so that we can remove their name from the list.

Membership Form: We are asking everyone to complete a Membership Form in order to update and correct our church records. Please don't assume we have your information. We may have it, but the information may be inaccurate or in need of updating. If you have not already completed a Membership Form this year, please complete one today. The forms are located in the foyer and on the bulletin board in the Family Life Center. There is a sealed box on the table in the foyer where you drop off your completed form. Volunteers Greatly Needed to Serve in Nursery and Children's Church: We are in desperate need of servants to work in our Nursery (6 weeks old to 3 years old) or in Children's Church (4 to 10 years old). We are asking you to assist with one Sunday a month during the 11:00 am service. If you feel the Lord leading you to one of these areas, please see Brad Miller (Nursery) or Sandra Anderson (Children's Church) or call the church office.

Scholarship Information (Female Students): Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. presents 2012 Scholarship Program. For more information, go to http://www.asacdst.org/index.html. Applicants must be female and meet criteria listed. Application deadline is February 22, 2012.

Harvard University Announcement - No Tuition and No Student Loans: Undergraduate students from low-income families will pay no tuition. More information at www.fao.fas.harvard.edu or call the school's financial aid office at (617) 495-1581.
